MS Fax Connector

The Connector for Microsoft Fax allows you to use the popular Microsoft Fax console to both send and receive faxes from your NET SatisFAXtion server.


Software Requirements

The Connector for Microsoft Fax requires the following software components:

  • Windows Installer 3.1
  • Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework

Supported Operating Systems

The following Operating Systems are supported by this connector:

  • Windows 2000 Workstation
  • Windows XP SP2 (32 and 64 bit)
  • Windows Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate (32 and 64 bit)
  • (NOTE: "Home" versions of Vista do not have the Windows Fax & Scan client)
  • Windows 7 Business, Enterprise and Ultimate (32 and 64 bit)
  • (NOTE: "Home" versions of Windows 7 do not have the Windows Fax & Scan client)
  • Windows Vista and 2008 have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 installed by default. It is not visible in the Add/Remove Programs list.
  • Windows 2003 and newer have Windows Installer 3.1 installed by default. It is not visible in the Add/Remove Programs list.

Installation

Install Microsoft Fax Services (Windows XP)

Open Control Panel Double click "Add or Remove Programs" Select "Add/Remove Windows Components" Check "Fax Services" and click Next This will also install the Microsoft "Fax" Virtual printer.

*If you recieve the following error: "Please insert the Compact Disc labeled "Windows XP Service Pack 1 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive and then click OK." please refer to the following

Install the Connector

The installer for the Connector for Microsoft Fax can be found Here Click the link to download The Connector for Microsoft Fax and run the installer

Click to download the file, select Run.  'If Close this dialog...' is checked,Or you selected to save the file double click on the NS-FaxserviceConnector.msi file you just downloaded

There may be a security warning. Click Run:

Click Next, Enter personalized information and install options, and click Next.

Allow default or set the destination folder and click next

Follow the onscreen prompts by hitting next until you get to the Enter you username and password section.

Enter your NET SatisFAXtion (CAS) username and password. Often user accounts will not have a password configured. In this case leave the password field blank. The user must already have been created on the fax server.

After filling in your user information and password click on advanced settings


Under Advanced Settings change the delete only the contex "FOIP" only and replace it with fax.easyon.com

Then click next which will bring you back to the previous page where you will then click on next then finish

Your Microsoft IP Fax connector should now be installed!
